| 23:1 | 王差遣人招聚猶大和耶路撒冷的眾長老到他那裡。 Then the king sent men, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. |
| 23:2 | 王和猶大眾人與耶路撒冷所有的居民，並祭司、申言者、和所有的百姓，無論大小，都上到耶和華的殿；王就把耶和華殿裡所得約書中的一切話，念給他們聽。 And the king went up to the house of Jehovah, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem were with him, as well as the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great; and he read aloud, in their hearing, all the words of the book of the covenant, which had been found in the house of Jehovah. |
| 23:3 | 王站在柱旁，在耶和華面前立約，要全心全魂跟從耶和華，謹守祂的誡命、法度和律例，成就這書上所記的約言。眾民都一同立這約。 And the king stood beside the pillar and made a covenant before Jehovah, to walk after Jehovah and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, so as to establish the words of this covenant which were written in this book. And all the people stood with the covenant. |
| 23:4 | 王吩咐大祭司希勒家和副祭司們，並守門的，將那為巴力和亞捨拉，並天上萬象所造的一切器皿，都從耶和華殿裡搬出去， And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of Jehovah all the vessels that were made for Baal and for Asherah and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel. |
| 23:5 | 在耶路撒冷外汲淪溪旁的田間燒了，把灰拿到伯特利去。從前猶大諸王所立拜偶像的祭司，在猶大城邑的邱壇和耶路撒冷的周圍燒香，現在王都廢去，又廢去向巴力和日、月、星宿、並天上萬象燒香的人； And he did away with the idol priests, whom the kings of Judah had appointed to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and the areas surrounding Jerusalem, as well as those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and to the moon and to the constellations and to all the host of heaven. |
| 23:6 | 又從耶和華殿裡將亞捨拉像搬到耶路撒冷外的汲淪溪那裡，在汲淪溪焚燒，搗碎成灰，將灰撒在平民的墳上； And he brought the Asherah from the house of Jehovah out of Jerusalem to the brook Kidron and burned it in the brook Kidron and ground it to dust and cast its dust on the graves of the children of the people. |
| 23:7 | 又拆毀耶和華殿裡孌童的屋子，就是婦女為亞捨拉織掛飾的地方； He also broke down the houses of the cult prostitutes which were in the house of Jehovah, where the women were weaving hangings for the Asherah. |
| 23:8 | 並且從猶大的城邑帶眾祭司來，污穢祭司燒香的邱壇，從迦巴直到別是巴，又拆毀城門旁的邱壇，這些邱壇在邑宰約書亞的門口，進城門的左邊。 Then he brought all the priests from the cities of Judah and defiled the high places where the priests burned incense, from Geba to Beer-sheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates which were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on one's left at the gate of the city. |
| 23:9 | 但是邱壇的祭司不登耶路撒冷耶和華的壇，只在他們弟兄中間吃無酵餅。 However the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of Jehovah in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers. |
| 23:10 | 王又污穢欣嫩子谷的陀斐特，不許人在那裡使兒女經火獻給摩洛； And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the sons of Hinnom, so that no one could make his son or his daughter pass through fire to Molech. |
| 23:11 | 又將猶大諸王在耶和華殿入口，在聖殿區域內靠近太監拿單米勒的屋子，向日頭所獻的馬廢去，且將獻給日頭的車用火焚燒。 And he did away with the horses which the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance of the house of Jehovah, by the chamber of Nathan- melech the officer, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire. |
| 23:12 | 猶大諸王在亞哈斯樓頂上所築的壇，和瑪拿西在耶和華殿兩院中所築的壇，王都拆毀了，從那裡迅速搬走，把灰倒在汲淪溪中。 And the altars which were on the roof at the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of Jehovah, the king tore down; and he removed them quickly from there and cast their dust into the brook Kidron. |
| 23:13 | 從前以色列王所羅門在耶路撒冷前，在毀滅山右邊，為西頓人可憎的神亞斯他錄、摩押人可憎的神基抹、亞捫人可憎的神米勒公所築的邱壇，王都污穢了。 And the high places which were before Jerusalem, which were on the right of the mount of destruction which Solomon the king of Israel had built to Ashtoreth, the detestable thing of the Sidonians, and to Chemosh, the detestable thing of Moab, and to Milcom, the abomination of the children of Ammon, the king defiled. |
| 23:14 | 又拆毀柱像，砍下亞捨拉像，將人的骨頭充滿了那些地方。 And he broke in pieces the pillars and cut down the Asherahs and filled their places with human bones. |
| 23:15 | 還有伯特利的壇，就是那使以色列人犯罪，尼八的兒子耶羅波安所築的邱壇，連這壇並邱壇，他也拆毀了。他將邱壇焚燒，打碎成灰，並焚燒了亞捨拉像。 And furthermore the altar which was at Bethel, the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down. And he burned the high place and beat it into dust and burned the Asherah. |
| 23:16 | 約西亞轉身，看見山上的墳墓，就打發人將墳墓裡的骸骨取出來，燒在壇上，污穢了壇，正如從前神人所宣告耶和華的話。 Then Josiah turned and saw the graves which were there in the mountain, and he sent men and took the bones from the graves and burned them on the altar and defiled it, according to the word of Jehovah, which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things. |
| 23:17 | 約西亞問說，我所看見的是什麼碑？那城裡的人對他說，先前有神人從猶大來，預先宣告王現在向伯特利壇所行的事，這就是他的墳墓。 Then he said, What is this monument which I see? And the men of the city said to him, It is the grave of the man of God who came from Judah and proclaimed these things which you have done against the altar in Bethel. |
| 23:18 | 約西亞說，由他安息罷；不要讓任何人挪移他的骸骨。他們就不動他的骸骨， And he said, Let him rest; let no man move his bones. So they left his bones alone with the bones of the prophet who came from Samaria. |
| 23:19 | 也不動從撒瑪利亞來那申言者的骸骨。從前以色列諸王在撒瑪利亞的城邑建築邱壇的廟， And Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel made, provoking Jehovah to anger, and did to them according to all that he had done in Bethel. |
| 23:20 | 惹動耶和華的怒氣，現在約西亞也都廢去了，並照著他在伯特利所行的一切，處理這些廟。他又將那裡邱壇的祭司都宰殺在壇上，並在壇上燒人的骨頭，然後回耶路撒冷去。 And all the priests of the high places who were there he slaughtered on the altars and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem. |
| 23:21 | 王吩咐眾民說，你們當照這約書上所寫的，向耶和華你們的神守逾越節。 And the king commanded all the people saying, Hold the Passover to Jehovah your God according to all that is written in this book of the covenant. |
| 23:22 | 自從士師治理以色列人的日子，和以色列王、猶大王在位的一切日子以來，實在沒有守過這樣的逾越節； Surely no Passover like this had been held since the days of the judges who judged Israel nor in all the days of the kings of Israel and of the kings of Judah. |
| 23:23 | 只有約西亞王十八年在耶路撒冷向耶和華守這逾越節。 But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah this Passover was held to Jehovah in Jerusalem. |
| 23:24 | 凡猶大地和耶路撒冷所見交鬼的、行巫術的、家中的神像、偶像、並一切可憎之物，約西亞盡都除掉，為要成就祭司希勒家在耶和華殿裡所得之書上所寫律法的話。 And moreover Josiah utterly removed the mediums and the soothsayers and the teraphim and the idols and all the detestable things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of Jehovah. |
| 23:25 | 在約西亞以前，沒有王像他照著摩西的一切律法，全心、全魂、全力回轉歸向耶和華；在他以後也沒有一個王興起像他。 And before him there was no king like him who turned to Jehovah with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might according to all the law of Moses, and after him no one has risen up like him. |
| 23:26 | 然而，耶和華向猶大所發猛烈的怒氣沒有轉消，是因瑪拿西諸事惹動祂。 However Jehovah did not turn from His great burning anger with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations by which Manasseh provoked Him. |
| 23:27 | 耶和華說，我也必將猶大人從我面前趕出，如同趕出以色列人一般；我必棄掉我從前所選擇的這城耶路撒冷，和我所說，我的名必立在那裡的殿。 And Jehovah said, I will remove Judah also from My sight, as I have removed Israel. And I will cast off this city which I have chosen, Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name will be there. |
| 23:28 | 約西亞其餘的事，凡他所行的，豈不都寫在猶大諸王記上麼？ And the rest of the acts of Josiah and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? |
| 23:29 | 約西亞年間，埃及王法老尼哥上到伯拉河攻擊亞述王；約西亞王出去接戰。埃及王在米吉多看見約西亞，就殺了他。 In his days Pharaoh Neco, the king of Egypt, went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates. And King Josiah went out to meet him; and when Pharaoh Neco saw him at Megiddo, he killed him. |
| 23:30 | 他的臣僕用車將他的死屍從米吉多送到耶路撒冷，葬在他自己的墳墓裡。猶大地的民選取約西亞的兒子約哈斯，膏了他，立他接續他父親作王。 And his servants drove him dead in a chariot from Megiddo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his grave. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in the place of his father. |
| 23:31 | 約哈斯登基的時候年二十三歲，在耶路撒冷作王三個月；他母親名叫哈慕他，是立拿人耶利米的女兒。 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah, from Libnah. |
| 23:32 | 約哈斯行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，是照他列祖一切所行的。 And he did what was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers had done. |
| 23:33 | 法老尼哥將約哈斯鎖禁在哈馬地的利比拉，不許他在耶路撒冷作王，又罰猶大地銀子一百他連得，金子一他連得。 And Pharaoh Neco imprisoned him in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, so that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and he imposed on the land a fine of one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. |
| 23:34 | 法老尼哥立約西亞的兒子以利亞敬接續他父親約西亞作王，給他改名叫約雅敬，卻將約哈斯帶到埃及，他就死在那裡。 And Pharaoh Neco made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And he took Jehoahaz and brought him to Egypt, and he died there. |
| 23:35 | 約雅敬將金銀給法老；他向那地的民徵稅，好照著法老的命令繳納銀子；他按著對各人所估定的，向那地的民索要金銀，好給法老尼哥。 And Jehoiakim gave silver and gold to Pharaoh, but he taxed the land to give the silver according to Pharaoh's word. He exacted the silver and the gold from the people of the land, from each man according to his estimation, to give it to Pharaoh Neco. |
| 23:36 | 約雅敬登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王十一年；他母親名叫西布大，是魯瑪人毗大雅的女兒。 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Zebidah, the daughter of Pediah from Rumah. |
| 23:37 | 約雅敬行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，是照他列祖一切所行的。 And he did what was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers had done. |
