| 5:1 | 非利士人將神的約櫃擄去，從以便以謝抬到亞實突。 When the Philistines took the Ark of God, they brought it from Eben-ezer to Ashdod. |
| 5:2 | 非利士人將神的約櫃抬進大袞廟，放在大袞的旁邊。 And the Philistines took the Ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon, and they set it next to Dagon. |
| 5:3 | 次日，亞實突人清早起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，面伏於地，就把大袞放回原處。 And when the Ashdodites arose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face to the ground, before the Ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon and put him back in his place. |
| 5:4 | 又次日清早起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，面伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手掌都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的軀幹。 And when they arose early in the morning of the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face to the ground, before the Ark of Jehovah. And Dagon's head and the palms of his hands were cut off, lying on the threshold; only Dagon's trunk was left to him. |
| 5:5 | 因此，在亞實突，大袞的祭司和一切進大袞廟的人，都不踏大袞廟的門檻，直到今日。 Because of this, neither the priests of Dagon nor any who enter the house of Dagon tread upon Dagon's threshold in Ashdod to this day. |
| 5:6 | 耶和華的手重重的加在亞實突人身上，敗壞他們，擊打他們，使他們生痔瘡，亞實突和其四境都是如此。 But the hand of Jehovah was heavy upon the Ashdodites, and He devastated them and struck them with tumors, even Ashdod and its borders. |
| 5:7 | 亞實突人見這光景，就說，以色列神的約櫃不可留在我們這裡，因為祂的手厲害的加在我們和我們的神大袞身上； And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The Ark of the God of Israel cannot stay with us, for His hand is hard on us and on Dagon our god. |
| 5:8 | 就打發人去請非利士人的眾首領到他們那裡聚集，問他們說，我們向以色列神的約櫃應當怎樣行呢？他們回答說，可以將以色列神的約櫃轉運到迦特去。於是將以色列神的約櫃轉運到那裡去。 Therefore they sent for and gathered all the lords of the Philistines to themselves, and they said, What shall we do with the Ark of the God of Israel? And they said, Let the Ark of the God of Israel be brought around to Gath. And they brought the Ark of the God of Israel there. |
| 5:9 | 轉運到那裡之後，耶和華的手攻擊那城，引起極大的恐慌；祂擊打那城的人，使他們無論大小都生痔瘡。 Then after they brought it there, the hand of Jehovah was against the city, causing a very great panic. And He struck the men of the city, from small to great; and they broke out with tumors. |
| 5:10 | 他們就把神的約櫃送到以革倫。神的約櫃到了以革倫，以革倫人就喊嚷起來說，他們將以色列神的約櫃轉運到我們這裡，要害死我們和我們的族人。 Then they sent the Ark of God to Ekron. But when the Ark of God came to Ekron, the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought the Ark of the God of Israel around to us to kill us and our people. |
| 5:11 | 於是打發人去請非利士的眾首領來聚集，說，願你們將以色列神的約櫃送回原處，免得害死我們和我們的族人。原來神的手重重的攻擊那城，城中的人有因驚慌而死的； And they sent for and gathered all the princes of the Philistines, and they said, Send away the Ark of the God of Israel; and let it return to its place, so that it does not kill us and our people. For the panic of death was throughout the whole city. The hand of God was very heavy there, |
| 5:12 | 沒有死的人都受擊打生了痔瘡。城中呼號的聲音上達於天。 And the men who did not die were stricken with tumors. And the cry of the city went up to heaven. |
