| 3:1 | 童子撒母耳在以利面前事奉耶和華。當那些日子，耶和華的言語稀少，不常有異象。 And the boy Samuel ministered to Jehovah before Eli. Now the word of Jehovah was rare in those days; visions were not widespread. |
| 3:2 | 一日，以利睡臥在自己的地方；他眼目已經昏花，不能看見。 And at that time Eli lay in his place, and his eyesight had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see. |
| 3:3 | 神的燈還沒有熄滅；撒母耳睡臥在耶和華的殿中，那裡有神的約櫃。 And the lamp of God had not yet gone out. And Samuel lay in the temple of Jehovah, where the Ark of God was. |
| 3:4 | 耶和華呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳說，我在這裡。 Then Jehovah called to Samuel. And he said, Here I am. |
| 3:5 | 他就跑到以利那裡，說，你呼喚我，我在這裡。以利說，我沒有呼喚你，回去睡罷。他就去睡了。 And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call. Go back and lie down. And he went and lay down. |
| 3:6 | 耶和華又呼喚說，撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裡，說，你呼喚我，我在這裡。以利說，我兒，我沒有呼喚你，回去睡罷。 And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel rose up and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call, my son. Go back and lie down. |
| 3:7 | 那時撒母耳還未認識耶和華，耶和華的話還未向他啟示。 Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, and the word of Jehovah had not yet been revealed to him. |
| 3:8 | 耶和華第三次呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裡，說，你呼喚我，我在這裡。以利才明白是耶和華呼喚童子。 Then Jehovah called Samuel again, the third time. And he rose up and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. Then Eli perceived that it was Jehovah calling the boy. |
| 3:9 | 於是以利對撒母耳說，去睡罷；祂若呼喚你，你就說，耶和華阿，請說，僕人敬聽。撒母耳就去，睡在原處。 And Eli said to Samuel, Go and lie down, and if He calls you, you shall say, Speak, O Jehovah; for Your servant is listening. And Samuel went and lay down in his place. |
| 3:10 | 耶和華又來站著，像前幾次呼喚說，撒母耳，撒母耳。撒母耳說，請說，僕人敬聽。 Then Jehovah came and stood by and called as at the other times, Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel said, Speak, for Your servant is listening. |
| 3:11 | 耶和華對撒母耳說，我在以色列中必行一件事，叫一切聽見的人無不耳鳴。 And Jehovah said to Samuel, I am about to do something in Israel which will make both ears of anyone who hears of it tingle. |
| 3:12 | 我指著以利家所說的話，到了那日，必從始至終應驗在以利身上 On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. |
| 3:13 | 我曾告訴他，我必因他所知道的罪孽，永遠降罰與他的家；因為他兒子自招咒詛，他卻不禁止他們 For I have told him that I am about to judge his house forever because of the iniquity which he knew; for his sons brought the curse upon themselves, and he did not restrain them. |
| 3:14 | 所以我向以利家起誓說，以利家的罪孽永不能藉祭物和供物得遮蓋。 And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of the house of Eli shall not be expiated by sacrifice or by offering forever. |
| 3:15 | 撒母耳睡到天亮，就開了耶和華的殿門；撒母耳不敢將異象告訴以利。 And Samuel lay down until the morning, when he opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel was afraid to tell the vision to Eli. |
| 3:16 | 以利呼喚撒母耳說，我兒撒母耳。撒母耳說，我在這裡。 But Eli called Samuel and said, Samuel my son. And he said, Here I am. |
| 3:17 | 以利說，耶和華對你說了什麼話？你不要向我隱瞞；你若將神對你所說的隱瞞一句，願祂重重的降罰與你。 And he said, What was the word that He spoke to you? Do not hide it from me. May God do so to you, and even more, if you hide from me any of the word which He spoke to you. |
| 3:18 | 撒母耳就把一切話都告訴了以利，並沒有隱瞞。以利說，祂是耶和華，願祂行自己眼中看為好的。 So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. And he said, He is Jehovah; let Him do what is good in His sight. |
| 3:19 | 撒母耳長大了，耶和華與他同在，使他所說的話一句都不落空。 And Samuel grew, and Jehovah was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. |
| 3:20 | 從但到別是巴所有的以色列人都知道，撒母耳被確立為耶和華的申言者。 And all Israel, from Dan to Beer-sheba, knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of Jehovah. |
| 3:21 | 耶和華繼續在示羅顯現；因為耶和華在示羅藉著祂的話，將祂自己啟示給撒母耳。 And Jehovah continued to appear in Shiloh, for Jehovah revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah. |
