| 3:1 | 你們看，父賜給我們的是何等的愛，使我們得稱為神的兒女，我們也真是祂的兒女。世人所以不認識我們，是因未曾認識祂。 Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and we are. Because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. |
| 3:2 | 親愛的，我們現在是神的兒女，將來如何，還未顯明；但我們曉得祂若顯現，我們必要像祂；因為我們必要看見祂，正如祂所是的。 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been manifested what we will be. We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is. |
| 3:3 | 凡向祂有這盼望的，就潔淨自己，正如祂是潔淨的一樣。 And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure. |
| 3:4 | 凡犯罪的，也行不法；罪就是不法。 Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness also, and sin is lawlessness. |
| 3:5 | 你們曉得祂曾顯現，為要除去罪；在祂裡面並沒有罪。 And you know that He was manifested that He might take away sins; and sin is not in Him. |
| 3:6 | 凡住在祂裡面的，就不犯罪；凡犯罪的，是未曾看見祂，也未曾認識祂。 Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him. |
| 3:7 | 孩子們，不要讓人迷惑你們，行義的人才是義的，正如祂是義的一樣； Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who practices righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous; |
| 3:8 | 犯罪的是出於魔鬼，因為魔鬼從起初就犯罪。為此，神的兒子顯現出來，是要消除魔鬼的作為。 He who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. |
| 3:9 | 凡從神生的，就不犯罪，因為神的種子住在他裡面；他也不能犯罪，因為他是從神生的。 Everyone who has been begotten of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been begotten of God. |
| 3:10 | 在此，神的兒女和魔鬼的兒女就顯出來了。凡不行義的，就不是出於神；不愛他弟兄的也是如此。 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest. Everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, neither he who does not love his brother. |
| 3:11 | 我們應當彼此相愛，這就是你們從起初所聽見的信息； For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, |
| 3:12 | 不要像該隱，他是出於那惡者，又殺了他的兄弟。為什麼殺了他？因為自己的行為是惡的，兄弟的行為是義的。 Not as Cain was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's, righteous. |
| 3:13 | 弟兄們，世人若恨你們，不要以為希奇。 Do not marvel, brothers, if the world hates you. |
| 3:14 | 我們因為愛弟兄，就曉得是已經出死入生了。不愛弟兄的，仍住在死中。 We know that we have passed out of death into life because we love the brothers. He who does not love abides in death. |
| 3:15 | 凡恨他弟兄的，就是殺人的；你們曉得凡殺人的，沒有永遠的生命住在他裡面。 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. |
| 3:16 | 主為我們捨命，在此我們就知道何為愛；我們也當為弟兄捨命。 In this we know love, that He laid down His life on our behalf, and we ought to lay down our lives on behalf of the brothers. |
| 3:17 | 凡有世上養生之物的，看見弟兄有需要，卻向他塞住慈心，神的愛怎能住在他裡面？ But whoever has the livelihood of the world and sees that his brother has need and shuts up his affections from him, how does the love of God abide in him? |
| 3:18 | 孩子們，我們相愛，不要只在言語和舌頭上，總要在行為和真誠上。 Little children, let us not love in word nor in tongue but in deed and truthfulness. |
| 3:19 | 在此就知道，我們是屬真理的，並且我們在祂面前可以安心； And in this we will know that we are of the truth, and we will persuade our heart before Him, |
| 3:20 | 我們的心若責備我們，神比我們的心大，一切事祂都知道。 Because if our heart blames us, it is because God is greater than our heart and knows all things. |
| 3:21 | 親愛的，我們的心若不責備我們，我們就可以向神坦然無懼了； Beloved, if our heart does not blame us, we have boldness toward God; |
| 3:22 | 並且我們不論求什麼，就從祂得著；因為我們遵守祂的誡命，也行祂看為可喜悅的事。 And whatever we ask we receive from Him because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. |
| 3:23 | 神的誡命就是叫我們信祂兒子耶穌基督的名，並且照祂所賜給我們的誡命彼此相愛。 And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, even as He gave a commandment to us. |
| 3:24 | 遵守神誡命的，就住在神裡面，神也住在他裡面。在此我們就知道神住在我們裡面，乃是由於祂所賜給我們的那靈。 And he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And in this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He gave to us. |
