使徒行傳-Acts 第 4 章

4:1使徒對百姓說話的時候，祭司們、守殿官和撒都該人，來到他們那裡，
And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
4:2因他們教訓百姓，憑著耶穌宣傳從死人中的復活，就很惱怒，
Being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and announcing in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
4:3於是下手拿住他們。因為天已經晚了，就把他們收在監裡，直到第二天。
And they laid their hands on them and placed them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.
4:4但聽道的人中，有許多信的，男人的數目約到五千。
But many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of men came to about five thousand.
4:5到了第二天，百姓的官長、長老和經學家，在耶路撒冷聚集，
And on the next day their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem,
4:6又有大祭司亞那和該亞法、約翰、亞力山大、並所有大祭司的親族，都在那裡。
As well as Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander and as many as were of high-priestly descent.
4:7他們叫使徒站在當中，查問說，你們用什麼能力，或在誰的名裡作這事？
And they stood them in the midst and inquired, By what power or in what name did you do this?
4:8那時，彼得被聖靈充溢，對他們說，
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders,
4:9百姓的官長和長老啊，若是今日，因為在一個病人身上所行的善事，審問我們他是怎麼得了拯救的，
If we today are being examined regarding a good deed done to a sick man, by what means this man has been healed,
4:10你們眾人和以色列眾百姓就當知道，乃是在拿撒勒人耶穌基督，就是你們所釘十字架，神從死人中所復活者的名裡，在這名裡，這人才站在你們面前健康完好。
Let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified and whom God has raised from the dead, in this name this man stands before you in good health.
4:11祂是你們匠人所輕棄的石頭，已成了房角的頭塊石頭。
This is the stone which was considered as nothing by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.
4:12除祂以外，別無拯救，因為在天下人間，沒有賜下別的名，我們可以靠著得救。
And there is salvation in no other, for neither is there another name under heaven given among men in which we must be saved.
4:13他們見彼得、約翰的膽量，並且看出他們原是沒有學問的平民，就都希奇，認出他們是跟過耶穌的。
And as they beheld the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated men and laymen, they marveled and they recognized them, that they had been with Jesus.
4:14又看見那治好了的人，和他們一同站著，就無話可駁。
And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against it.
4:15於是吩咐他們到議會外面去，就彼此商議說，
But they ordered them to go away outside the Sanhedrin and conferred with one another,
4:16我們當怎樣辦這兩個人？因為藉著他們確實有一件明顯的神跡行出來了，凡住耶路撒冷的人都知道，我們也不能不承認。
Saying, What shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable sign has occurred through them is manifest to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
4:17惟恐這事越發傳佈在民間，我們必須恐嚇他們，叫他們不要再靠這名對任何人講論。
But in order that this would not be spread further among the people, let us threaten them that they no longer speak based upon this name to anyone.
4:18於是叫了他們來，吩咐他們，絕對不要靠耶穌的名講論、施教。
And when they called them, they charged them not to utter anything at all nor teach based upon the name of Jesus.
4:19但彼得、約翰回答他們說，聽從你們，不聽從神，這在神面前對不對，你們去判斷吧！
But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you judge;
4:20因為我們所看見所聽見的，不能不說。
For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
4:21官長因百姓的緣故，找不出辦法刑罰他們，只好再恐嚇一番，把他們釋放了；這是因眾人為所發生的事，都榮耀神。
And when they had further threatened them, they released them, finding no way that they could punish them on account of the people, because they all were glorifying God for what had happened;
4:22原來藉著神跡醫好的那人，有四十多歲了。
For the man on whom this sign of healing had occurred was more than forty years old.
4:23二人既被釋放，就到自己的人那裡去，把祭司長和長老所說的話，都報告他們。
And when they had been released, they went to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
4:24他們聽見了，就同心合意的高聲向神說，主宰啊，你是造天、地、海和其中萬物的。
And when they heard this, they lifted up their voice with one accord to God and said, Sovereign Master, You are the One who has made heaven and earth and the sea and all things in them,
4:25你曾藉著聖靈，托你僕人我們祖宗大衛的口，說，「外邦為什麼吼鬧，萬民為什麼謀算虛妄的事？
Who, through the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, has said, "Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples devise vain things?
4:26地上的君王一齊起來，臣宰也聚集在一起，要抵擋主並祂的受膏者。」
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.''
4:27希律和本丟彼拉多，同外邦人和以色列民，果真在這城裡聚集，要抵擋你所膏的聖僕耶穌，
For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
4:28成就你手和你定議所預定必有的事。
To do what Your hand and Your counsel predestined to take place.
4:29主啊，他們恐嚇我們，現在求你鑒察，並叫你的奴僕大放膽量，講說你的話，
And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings and grant Your slaves to speak Your word with all boldness,
4:30同時伸出你的手施行醫治，使神跡奇事，藉著你聖僕耶穌的名行出來。
While stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may take place through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.
4:31祈求完了，聚會的地方震動，他們就都被聖靈充溢，放膽講說神的話。
And when they had so besought, the place in which they were gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
4:32那許多信的人，都是一心一魂的，沒有人說他的財物有一樣是自己的，都是大家公用。
And the heart and soul of the multitude of those who had believed was one; and not even one said that any of his possessions was his own, but all things were common to them.
4:33使徒大有能力，見證主耶穌的復活，眾人也都蒙大恩。
And with great power the apostles gave testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
4:34他們中間沒有一個缺乏的，因為凡有田產房屋的都賣了，把所賣的價銀拿來，放在使徒腳前，
For neither was anyone among them in need; for as many as were owners of lands or of houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the things which were sold
4:35照各人所需用的，分給各人。
And placed them at the feet of the apostles; and it was distributed to each, as anyone had need.
4:36有一個利未人約瑟，按籍貫是居比路人，使徒稱他為巴拿巴。（巴拿巴翻出來，就是勸慰子。）
And Joseph, who was surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated, Son of encouragement), a Levite, a Cyprian by birth,
4:37他有一塊田地，也賣了，把錢拿來，放在使徒腳前。
Who possessed a field, sold it and brought the sum of money and placed it at the feet of the apostles.
