| 11:1 | 當將你的糧食撒在水面，因為日久必能得著。 Cast your bread upon the surface of the waters, for you will find it in many days. |
| 11:2 | 你要分給七人，或分給八人，因為你不知道有什麼災禍會臨到地上。 Give a portion to seven, and even to eight, for you do not know what calamity will happen on the earth. |
| 11:3 | 雲若滿了雨，就必傾倒在地上；樹若向南倒或向北倒，樹倒在何處，就留在何處。 If the clouds are full, they pour forth rain on the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, in the place where it falls, there will it be. |
| 11:4 | 看風的，必不撒種；望雲的，必不收割。 He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who looks at the clouds will not reap. |
| 11:5 | 你不知道風的途徑，也不知道骨頭在孕婦的胎中如何長成；照樣，你也不知道造萬物之神的作為。 Just as you do not know what the path of the wind is or how the bones are formed in the mother's womb, so you do not know the work of God, who makes everything. |
| 11:6 | 早晨要撒種，晚上也不要歇手，因為你不知道那一樣發旺；或是這樣，或是那樣，或是兩樣都好。 In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not hold back your hands; for you do not know which will prosper, this one or that, or whether both alike will be good. |
| 11:7 | 光是佳美的，眼見日光也是可悅的。 The light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun. |
| 11:8 | 人若活多年，就當快樂多年；然而也當記得黑暗的日子，因為這些日子必多；那要來的都是虛空。 Indeed if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in all of them; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. All that comes is vanity. |
| 11:9 | 少年人哪，你在幼年時當快樂；在幼年的日子，使你的心歡暢，照你心所願行的，你眼所愛看的去行。你卻要知道，為這一切的事，神必審問你。 Rejoice, young man, in your childhood, and let your heart be merry in the days of your youth; and walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment. |
| 11:10 | 所以你當從心中除掉愁煩，從肉體克除邪惡；因為幼年之時和人生的初期，都是虛空的。 So remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for childhood and the dawn of life are vanity. |
