| 1:1 | 憑神旨意，照著在基督耶穌裡生命的應許，作基督耶穌使徒的保羅， Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God according to the promise of life, which is in Christ Jesus, |
| 1:2 | 寫信給我親愛的孩子提摩太：願恩典、憐憫、平安，從父神和我們的主基督耶穌歸與你。 To Timothy, beloved child: Grace, mercy, peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. |
| 1:3 | 我感謝神，就是我接續祖先，用清潔的良心所事奉的神，晝夜祈求的時候，不住的提到你， I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers in a pure conscience, while unceasingly I have remembrance concerning you in my petitions night and day, |
| 1:4 | 記念你的眼淚，渴望見你，好叫我充滿喜樂； Longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy; |
| 1:5 | 記得你裡面無偽的信心，就是先在你外祖母羅以，和你母親友尼基裡面的，我深信也在你裡面。 Having been reminded of the unfeigned faith in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded dwells also in you. |
| 1:6 | 為這緣故，我提醒你，將那藉我按手，在你裡面神的恩賜，再如火挑旺起來。 For which cause I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. |
| 1:7 | 因為神賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，乃是能力、愛、並清明自守的靈。 For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of sobermindedness. |
| 1:8 | 所以你不要以給我們的主作見證為恥，也不要以我這主的囚犯為恥；總要按神的能力，與福音同受苦難。 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord nor of me His prisoner; but suffer evil with the gospel according to the power of God; |
| 1:9 | 神救了我們，以聖召召了我們，不是按我們的行為，乃是按祂自己的定旨和恩典；這恩典是歷世之前，在基督耶穌裡賜給我們的， Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the times of the ages |
| 1:10 | 但如今藉著我們救主基督耶穌的顯現，才顯明出來。祂已經把死廢掉，藉著福音將生命和不朽壞照耀出來； But now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who nullified death and brought life and incorruption to light through the gospel, |
| 1:11 | 我為這福音被派作傳揚者，作使徒，作教師。 For which I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. |
| 1:12 | 為這緣故，我也受這些苦難；然而我不以為恥，因為知道我所信的是誰，也深信祂能保守我所托付的，直到那日。 For which cause also I suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to guard my deposit unto that day. |
| 1:13 | 你從我聽的那健康話語的規範，要用基督耶穌裡的信和愛持守著。 Hold a pattern of the healthy words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. |
| 1:14 | 你要藉著那住在我們裡面的聖靈，保守那美好的托付。 Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. |
| 1:15 | 你知道所有在亞西亞的人都離棄了我，其中有腓吉路和黑摩其尼。 This you know, that all who are in Asia turned away from me, of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. |
| 1:16 | 願主憐憫阿尼色弗一家，因他屢次使我舒爽，且不以我的鎖鏈為恥； May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chain; |
| 1:17 | 反倒在羅馬的時候，慇勤的尋找我，並且找著了。 But being in Rome, he sought me out diligently and found me. |
| 1:18 | 願主使他在那日從主得著憐憫。他在以弗所怎樣多方的服事我，你知道得最清楚。 May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord in that day. And in how many things he served me in Ephesus, you know best. |
